Amazon previously renewed Goliath for a third season, and following this announcement; reports emerged the upcoming installment will be adding new faces, some of which include Dennis Quaid, (The Day After Tomorrow) Amy Brenneman (The Leftovers), and Beau Bridges (Homeland). Now, new reports confirmed Julia Jones (Westworld) has been added on board as well and becomes a series regular.
In December 2018, Amazon renewed Goliath for a third season, though it reportedly has low ratings. The series is from David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro, which debuted in October 2016, and then the second season arrived in June 2018. Right now, there were no confirmed reports regarding its official release date, but rumors suggest it will be out sometime in 2019.
Going back to the new cast, Shamier Anderson (Destroyer), Griffin Dunne (House of Lies), and Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks: The Return) will be joining lead star Billy Bob Thornton is Goliath season 3 as well, though their roles remain undisclosed. Leslie Grossman (American Horror Story) will reportedly recur in the third installment. So, what fans can expect with these new cast members?
According to reports, in Goliath season 3, the unexpected death of an old friend prompted Billy McBride (Thornton) to take a case in the Central Valley. In here, the character will come face-to-face with the so-called new Goliath: a billionaire (Quaid) rancher and his sister (Brenneman).
While Billy along with his team pursues the truth, personal demons and old enemies will resurface - forcing the character to confront his mortality. This is where Jones' character will appear, Stephanie Littlecrow. She is a Hollywood stuntwoman but also an heiress to the piece of property in the Central Valley.
Meanwhile, Grossman will be a recurring character where she will play the role of Rochelle Purple - a bold and a brassy financial adviser. She reportedly knows better than leaving herself vulnerable to the deadly temperaments of Wade and Diana Blackwood.
Grossman recurred on The Good Place and was a series regular in the final installment of American Horror Story. Jones, on the other hand, recurred on Westworld and also appeared in the feature Wind River.
Other cast members of Goliath include Julie Brister (as Marva Jefferson), Ana de la Reguera (Marisol Silva), Diana Hopper (Denise McBride), Tania Raymonde (Brittany Gold), and Nina Arianda (Patty Solis-Papazian). Lawrence Trilling will reportedly return as showrunner for Goliath season 3, and he'll also serve as executive produce along with Geyer Kosinski, Jennifer Ames, and Steve Turner.
