Things are not looking good for Ser Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). HBO just dropped the official trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2, showing the character's not-so-warm welcome to the Winterfell.
Ser Jamie Lannister, who abandoned his twin sister and lover Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) in the previous season of Game of Thrones, finally arrived at Winterfell to join the military forces of the North in the looming Great War. However, not everyone is happy with his sudden arrival.
That being said, Ser Jamie Lannister will be seen standing in the Great Hall at Winterfell in front of Queen Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), whose father he killed, and Brandon "Bran" Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who he pushed out a window after discovering him and Cersei Lannister.
"When I was a child, my brother would tell me a bedtime story about the man who murdered our father -- about all the things we would do to that man," Queen Daenerys Targaryen can be hearing saying in the 50-second Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 trailer. Ser Jamie Lannister looks frightened as he stands before the council.
The scene, then, shifted to Queen Daenerys Targaryen talking with Lady Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) about Queen Cersei Lannister and how she had led them astray and betrayed their trust. The trailer also hinted that the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and the White Walkers are closing in and they do not have much time left to prepare.
The upcoming episode might also feature how Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) will take the news of his true identity - his real name is Aegon Targaryen and is the son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Princess Lyanna Stark. Hence, he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne - not his aunt/lover, Queen Daenerys Targaryen.
In the premiere of Game of Thrones Season 8, Jon Snow, Queen Daenerys Targaryen, and her army arrived in Winterfell and discovered the White Walkers have already broken through the Wall. There, Jon Snow reunited with Bran Stark, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and good friend, Samwell "Sam" Tarly (John Bradley).
Jon Snow and Sam Tarly's reunion, however, was filled with sadness as the latter found out that his father and brother were killed by Queen Daenerys Targaryen. He also informed Jon Snow about his true identity.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 is set to air on Sunday, April 21 at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on HBO.
