It looks like fans will not have to wait too long to see what happens to Inspector Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan). While fans wait for an official Sacred Games Season 2 release date, several news outlets are already making an educated guess.
According to Box Office India (via Biz Asia), the second installment of the Indian web television thriller series might be available for streaming on Netflix starting this July considering the first season's release date.
As for the plot, the next installment will heavily revolve around Khanna Guru Ji (Pankaj Tripathi), who was seen briefly in the first season of Sacred Games. It turns out that the character has a big role in the nuclear explosion planned for 25 days (now 14 days left as shown in the season 1 finale).
Khanna Guru Ji is described by Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a notorious crime lord who has been missing for 16 years, as his third father - the person who influenced him more than anyone else. Unfortunately, he is the last person who also betrayed him.
"Guruji is a larger-than-life part and will become the most sought-after character in the series," actor Pankaj Tripathi said in an interview with Mid-Day, as quoted by Hindustan Times. "My character becomes as big as Gaitonde," he added.
Sacred Games Season 2 will also shed light on why Ganesh Gaitonde brutally killed his consort, Jojo Mascarenas (Surveen Chawla), who was also a talent manager in the film industry. It might also reveal Trivedi's (Chittaranjan Tripathy) fate.
Trivedi was last seen tied up on a chair and had a bullet shot in his chest inside the underground bunker in Ganesh Gaitonde's hideout. However, it is assumed that the character is not dead, but just heavily sedated.
In addition to the above-mentioned characters, Sacred Games Season 2 also stars Sobhita Dhulipala (Raman Raghav 2.0 and Goodachari) and Harshita Gaur (Sadda Haq) in undisclosed roles along with Neeraj Kabi, Kubra Sait, Jatin Sarna, Jitendra Joshi, Rajshri Deshpande, Luke Kenny, Pankaj Tripathi, Elnaaz Norouzi, Aamir Bashir, Geetanjali Thapa, Shalini Vatsa, Surveen Chawla, Girish Kulkarni, Anupriya Goenka, Danish Pandor, Anil Charanjeet, Vikram Kochar
Actors Samir Kochhar, Chittaranjan Tripathy, Rajendra Shisatkar, Sukhmani Sadana, Muni Jha, Karan Wahi, Promita Banik, Nawab Shah, Jaipreet Singh, Raj Kashyap, Affan Khan, Sunny Pawar, Saurabh Sachdeva, Sandesh Kulkarni, Vibhavari Deshpande, and Neha Shitole will also reprise their respective roles.
