VaynerMedia believes that transparency and talent will aid them in their plan to establish its operation in the Asia Pacific region. The company, headed by the well-known businessman Gary Vaynerchuck, plans to pursue its international growth plans starting in the Asia Pacific.
Jeff Nicholson, the chief media officer of the company said that they have been scouting for people and possible locations for their office space as the plan comes closer to reality. The company will initially utilize some of the big global names to aid the establishment of their Asian venture and to ensure that the VaynerMedia culture is maintained in the new office. The company's Vice president of Media Avery Durman is among the leaders who are expected to help the establishment of the Asian office.
Nicholson said that it is a winning strategy for the company to send their "top-tier talent" to the new office to ensure that the operations work and the transfer of culture to the local new starters goes smoothly before the heavily invest into training them.
He explains that they want to be as close to the mold as possible. He calls the move as the "fragment from the beast". He said that you're building a beast, an animal of the team, you want to take a very strong piece of the animal so that when you're going to grow a new one it's going to look the DNA clone.
He said that it is the main reason why Avery Durnam is moving over. He said that she is one of the top executives and she's coming to run the media organization in the new site. He added that he also has two of his top five tactical leads moving to the region, one from London and one from New York.
According to Nicholson, the culture will be a differentiator in the space and one of them is how we approach the market philosophically. He noted that the other one is just culture as a team and how they operate. He said that he is taking the best of the best, moving them to Asia because they're excited about a new opportunity and growth as an entrepreneur.
He also said that they will take university graduates since they are known to train business leaders from scratch. According to reports, the company already secured four clients in the region, secured on earlier visits in which they plan to turn into case studies to increase their understanding of how to set up the team.
