The Creeper is coming back in the Jeepers Creepers 4 as the thriller-horror movie is reportedly in development right now. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming sequel.

The first Jeepers Creepers movie stars Justin Long and Gina Philips where they play the role of siblings Darry and Trish Jenner, respectively. The original film was released back in 2001, and it follows the Jenner sibling while trying to escape from the Creeper (played by Jonathan Breck), which awakens every 23 years to feed. The monster is stealing parts from his victims, and in the case of Trish and Danny, he wanted to steal the latter's eyes.

Jeepers Creepers 2 was then released in 2003, which took place four days after the events that happened in the first movie. It also follows the Creeper stalking a school bus before going back to hibernation. Also, a vengeful father (Ray Wise) hunts the Creeper, as one of the victims happened to be his son. The second movie was considered a success, but it took about 14 years before Creepers Jeepers 4 came out in 2017.

Originally, the third movie was called Jeepers Creeper 3: Cathedral, but it was later on rewritten to accommodate a lower budget and went to a straight-to-DVD release because it reportedly took a long time to get financed. The film was set in-between events that happened in the first and second movies.

The original plot, however, was supposedly set 23 years after the end of the second installment and it would feature Philips and Wise's characters teaming up to take down the Creeper. Meanwhile, there are only a few details about Jeepers Creepers 4, but the movie will reportedly be the ending of the film series.

Otakukart reported Jeepers Creepers showrunner and director Victor Salva currently works on the fourth installment. Reportedly, it will be produced by American Zoetrope, and the cast members will include Gina Philips, Ray Wise, Jonathan Breck, Mariah Delfino, and Luke Edwards. As for the release date, rumors suggest Jeepers Creepers 4 might be released sometime in 2020.

Meanwhile, Creeper actor Breck said in an interview that the franchise would go into a new direction. He also revealed that the unused script of Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral would be turned into a season of a TV series. If ever, it would likely follow the original plot which is taking down the Creeper to keep everyone safe. The development of a potential series is still up in the air right now.
