According to Bam Smack Pow, Gotham Season 5 Episode 12 will feature a major time jump with the return of Wayne to Gotham. It will be the first time he will introduce himself as Batman, and he will go up against Gordon to prove himself as an ally.
Gotham Season 5 Episode 12 will also see the comeback of The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) after 10 years of brain inactivity. With Jeremiah Valeska's appearance, the final episode will surely be an explosive ending that will end the era.
According to Express.co.uk, before Wayne went away, he promised to return when Gotham and its people need him. Ten years have passed; they now need him more than ever as there would be a reunion of the villains in Gotham Season 5 Episode 12 that hinted an epic series finale.
In Gotham Season 5 Episode 12 trailer, an aged Penguin could be seen leaving Black Gate, promising he would take his revenge against Gordon. The scene then panned to Alfred (Sean Pewtree), who revealed Wayne's new plans for Gotham.
The trailer then revealed the other anti-heroes that would appear in Gotham Season 5 Episode 12. The Riddler returned, along with The Penguin, to destroy Gotham is also unveiled, and The Joker's new deformed look as he escaped from Arkham Asylum to face Wayne.
"I was waiting for him to come home," he said at the end of the trailer, pertaining to Wayne's return. The anti-heroes and villains' final showdown would be seen in Gotham Season 5 Episode 12, titled "The Beginning," on Thursday, Apr. 25, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
