Fans have been waiting for the release of Elite Season 2 on Netflix after the success of its first season. Recently, the streaming network dropped a major update about the series' return with the official start of its production and new faces viewers are about to see.

Netflix officially announced that the lights are now on in Las Encinas for the production of Elite Season 2. Not only that, but there will also be three new faces joining the series.

"Lights are back on in Las Encinas, this time around with 3 new faces," the show's official Instagram page captioned short clip, showing the university. "Elite Season 2 in production. Stay tuned."

According to Seventeen, there will be new faces coming to Elite Season 2 like Jorge López, Georgina Amorós, and Claudia Salas. They will be playing the roles of Valerio, Cayetana, and Rebeca, respectively. However, aside from their names, it is not yet revealed what they would be exactly portraying.

Talking about the cast, the show's original members will also return to Elite Season 2. The previous season ended with Samuel (Itzán Escamilla), promising that he would prove his brother's, Nano (Jaime Lorente), innocence.

The real murderer, Polo (álvaro Rico), is about to break, while Carla (Ester Expósito) is trying to compose herself. These guys are all expected to return to Elite Season 2, along with Cristian (Miguel Herrán), who helped to cover them up. Omar (Omar Ayuso), Ander (Arón Piper), Nadia (Mina El Hammani), and Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) may also be seen once again.

So, what will happen in Elite Season 2? Netflix has yet to reveal the second season's official plotline, but there are assumptions it will explore the lives of Omar, Ander, Guzmán, and Nadia, per Cosmopolitan.

Ander's parents accepted his real self when he revealed he is gay. His father was even worried that he would never play tennis anymore, instead of the revelation. Unfortunately, Omar didn't have the same fate.

Omar's father was devastated when his son was outed by Ander's mother. Omar told him it was a lie, but that only pushed the patriarch to arrange a fixed marriage. With all this unfortunate event, Ander and Omar's fates would surely be explored in Elite Season 2.

On the other hand, the previous season didn't end well for Guzmán because of his sister's death. However, he managed to tell Lu (Danna Paola) that he is in love with Nadia. As Nadia also feels something toward Guzmán, a new relationship might be brewed in Elite Season 2.

Netflix has yet to announce when Elite Season 2 will be out. But, there are assumptions it will be released anytime this year.
