Netflix has just released 10 episodes of Chambers last Friday, April 28. While it's still too early to know if this show, which stars Kill Bill's Uma Thurman and Scandal's Tony Goldwyn, may be getting a renewal, Chambers creator Leah Rachel said that she's already writing season 2.
Speaking with Metro, Rachel said that she has been coming up with ideas for Chambers season 2 in her head. She has also been doodling her thoughts on scraps of paper and whatever she could get her hands on.
However, the creator confirmed that nothing is official thus far with regards Chambers season 2. The cast and crew are still waiting for the good word on the Netflix renewal.
Chambers is about a young woman named Sasha (played by Sivan Alyra Rose) who survives a heart attack. Suddenly, mysterious things happen to her because of the heart that allowed her to live.
In the Chambers season 1 finale, Sasha seemingly absorbed the powers of a supernatural being and demonstrated what she could do to the cult that has been recruiting her. The men in the cult could not fight her powers and this left a big cliffhanger for the series. What could this mean for Sasha and her family and why are the men too weak towards her?
Incidentally, Chambers is the first major TV role for Rose, who is partly Native American. If Netflix decides to give the series another go, then the actress is expected to reprise her role.
Thurman, on the other hand, plays a distraught mother named Nancy in Chambers. Sasha was the lucky recipient of her daughter's heart and together with her husband Ben (played by Goldwyn), they have tried to build a relationship with her. Thurman's character is also expected to return in season 2 as her storyline is still not yet finished.
It's unclear, however, if the rest of the casts are returning, especially those who have died in Chambers season 1. However, it's possible that their characters could be presented in flashbacks scenes in succeeding episodes, according to Express.
Chambers began production in June 2018 to debut in April the following year. However, Netflix doesn't follow a rigid season calendar for its shows. So, if the series does receive a renewal then it will likely return on the streaming platform in late 2020.
