NBC has yet to renew the show, but fans are hoping to see Season 2 renewal to feature character and storyline developments.

Meanwhile, ahead of The Enemy Within Episode 11's release, Cassandra Freeman, who plays as Jacqueline Pettigrew, talked about the show. In an interview with The Cheat Sheet, the 40-year-old star revealed what made the show different from other police procedural dramas that made it stand out.
Most network dramas today follow a group's story and have main objects. However, The Enemy Within doesn't work like the other series. It bravely breaks the mold by telling a different tale.
"Everyone's pain is so layered," Freeman said about The Enemy Within. "To see Morris on this show is amazing because I'm so used to seeing him do the romantic lead -and that can be fun, but there's so much beautiful pain coming off of him."
Fans see Chestnut's character goes deeper and deeper every week. The show also makes the cast realize their enemies turn to be who they are now because of what they are doing to them. Things will continue to be different in The Enemy Within Episode 11, titled "The Embassy," which will be out on Monday, May 6, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
