Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are, undeniably, considered as two of the most successful South Korean stars today. The two became a household name when they paired in the 2016 hit series Descendants of the Sun. Despite the fact that they are no longer working on a project together, the Song-Song couple continues to make their devoted supporters proud of their recent accomplishments in life.

Avid followers of Song Joong Ki would be seeing the actor in small screens again via the imminent new series titled Arthdal Chronicles. This is going to be the second project of the 33-year-old South Korean superstar since he appeared on the Descendants of the Sun along with now-wife Song Hye Kyo.

For starters, the upcoming Arthdal Chronicles centers on the story of the ancient city of Asadal. It would tackle the birth of civilization in that area in the ancient times, which means it would include unusual characters, mythical creatures and new lands to explore. Fans of Song Hye Kyo's better half would see a different Song Joong Ki in the series.

Song Joong Ki would portray the role of Eunseom, who relentlessly fights to protect his tribe. Besides Song Hye Kyo's real-life partner, other stars to appear on the Arthdal Chronicles series include Kim Ji Won, Kim Ok Bin and Jang Dong Gun. Kim Won Seok, who is the same man behind the Sungkyunkwan Scandal series, will direct the upcoming new show with Park Sang Yeon and Kim Young Hyun as its official writers.

The new drama series of Song Joong Ki is set to premiere on June 1 on tvN. Arthdal Chronicles, which would be divided into three seasons, would also be available for streaming on Netflix. Followers of Song Hye Kyo's husband are very much thrilled for June to roll around.

Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo, for her part, would be starring in a new Chinese film very soon. It was, previously, revealed that the wife of Song Joong Ki signed with Chinese director Wong Kar Wai's production company.
