BDSM has a new face with Tiff (Zoe Levin) and Pete (Brendan Scannell) ever since their show hit the small screens. With their different dynamic, fans are now waiting when Bonding Season 2 will be on Netflix.
The first season of Bonding only premiered on April 24. Surely, fans have binge-watched its seven episodes that only ran for 20 minutes maximum, so they are now all waiting for Bonding Season 2.
The show is dubbed to be a "dark comedy series" for diving into the world of the dominatrix. Bonding focused mostly on Tiff, a student who works as a dominatrix to survive, and Pete, her best friend who wants to be a stand-up comedian. They were using pseudonyms, Mistress May and Master Carter, to hide their real identities.
Despite the criticisms the show receives from the dominatrix community, saying it lacks authenticity, others praise the show for its natural comedy. With the positive feedback, will Netflix ask for Bonding Season 2?
According to Screen Rant, it usually takes three to six weeks before Netflix renews its shows. So, it may take a month or two before fans hear any news about Bonding Season 2.
It is not yet revealed what Bonding Season 2 would be all about, but the previous season finale might hint what story it would tell. As Tiff and Brendan moved on with their lives, a mysterious client suddenly showed up and eventually got stabbed. This storyline might be solved in the new season, aside from the characters' personal storylines.
In an interview with Levin, the 25-year-old star told Bustle she hopes Bonding Season 2 would continue to focus on Tiff end Pete's growth if ever the show returns. "That to me is the heart of the show: the relationship between Pete and Tiff," she said. "I just hope they can keep exploring what their friendship is to each other and how they support each other."
Levin is very eager to reprise her role as Tiff and work with everyone again on the set. She also loves to be with Scannell and create more scenes together as the making of the previous season resulted in "incredible working experience."
If Netflix decides to do Bonding Season 2, the show may be out in 2020 if the streaming network asks it to be a full 10-episode season that will run longer than 20 minutes. But if its runtime and episode count will stay the same, it may probably be out later this year.
