An author claims the favorite grandson of Queen Elizabeth II is not Prince Harry, but it's Prince William. While many believed the Duke of Sussex is the "most favored grandson" of Her Majesty, author Christopher Andersen noted in his book William and Kate: A Royal Love Story that the Duke of Cambridge is the most favored one.

Back in 2010, the royal palace was reportedly planning the secret wedding of Prince William and his then-girlfriend Kate Middleton. And then in 2012, the royal family would be hosting the Summer Olympics, so the couple needed to move the wedding in 2013. That means they had already stretched their courtship to a full 13 years.

However, Prince William reportedly disagreed with the idea since Middleton had waited long enough and the press already branded her as "Waity Katie," which was humiliating for her part. As per Andersen, Queen Elizabeth supported the decision of the Duke of Cambridge and noted the sooner the wedding, the better it would be.

He also claimed Her Majesty already accepted Middleton in the royal fold and she had long ago embraced her as a "suitable mate" for her favorite grandson. Andersen also wrote the public wasn't aware that Prince William was the most favored grandson, but Queen Elizabeth "privately rooted" for the Duchess of Cambridge following the couple's highly publicized split back in 2007.

Furthermore, the Queen reportedly had a special interest on Prince William since she already knew that her son Prince Charles would be on his ripe age when he becomes the King. Thus, Her Majesty reportedly rested squarely on the shoulder of her favorite grandson.

Also, Queen Elizabeth started a ritual when the Duke of Cambridge was just 5-years-old which would reportedly last until he enrolled in college. Each week, according to the report, the two royals would reunite for a tea at the Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle where they would then bond and start talking about the Prince's school, sports, the music he listened to, and movies that he liked.

After that, Queen Elizabeth would reportedly slip in a history lesson, and the young Prince William cherished these moments with his "Granny." Their bond is said to be a tutorial in kingship as Her Majesty reportedly has no plans to give it to her son.

Over the past years, Prince William and Queen Elizabeth's closeness is noticeable in some royal photos. The throwback pictures of the two were shared on Instagram, where they can be seen talking, smiling, and laughing at each other.
