Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, the former 19 Kids And Counting stars, have made a lot of money over the past years. But even before they star in the long-running reality show, the two were already making money in the real estate world. And now, they will reportedly be even richer as they listed a $1.8 million flip house, which they only bought for $230,000.
A report from PEOPLE magazine noted reality stars renovated a 10,000-square-foot historic home located in Springdale, Arkansas. Known as the "Baylor Mansion," the couple purchased the then-dilapidated property back in 2014 for $230,000. Now, the completely transformed four-bedroom, plus nine-bathroom property is on the market, and the couple will surely be even richer if ever they get their asking price.
Aside from the money they use to purchase the home, it is still unclear how much they've invested in the property, though it's very likely they released a hefty amount. When the 19 Kids And Counting stars bought the house five years ago, the listing reportedly stated it only had four bathrooms.
The Duggars added five more bathrooms and then remodeled the house to a more modern look, such as with white cabinets, upgraded appliances, as well as open floor plans. Also, the transformation comes with an update of the three additional kitchens. But, Michelle and Jim Bob decided to keep some of the original elements of the house, like the slate tile floor, the doors, and the walnut ceiling.
As per the listing, the house was built in 1969, and it was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's round home. In the first floor, it was reportedly surrounded by a concrete wall which was built so it could withstand a "nuclear attack."
On the outside, the property sits on 2.73 acres, and it features a sprawling stone patio above a three-and-a-half-car garage. The patio has a green outdoor carpet before, but they ripped it up for a bare outdoor space.
The couple's representative told PEOPLE that Michelle and Jim Bob have been buying and selling homes over the past years - even before they had a reality TV show - as the latter's mother is a real estate agent as well. The couple is reportedly flipping home into family projects for years now, and the Baylor Mansion is reportedly their biggest flip yet.
Meanwhile, 19 Kids And Counting spinoff Counting On will reportedly air on TLC later this year. The series features Michelle and Jim Bob, but its primary focus is on their married children.
