Outlander season 5 is already happening, and the show is reportedly in production in Scotland right now. But even though fans know they're getting another season, there were only a few details about it. So, it's really hard to predict what will happen in the fifth installment. But recently, actor Sam Heughan posted an Instagram photo of himself with Caitriona Balfe and Aisha Tyler, noting the latter visited them on set.

In the post, Heughan confirmed Tyler paid a visit on the set of Outlander season 5 last week, so many speculated the actress would be joining them in the upcoming season. She could add humor and a little bit of spice in the program; especially she's done almost everything and already tried different roles.

In fact, Tyler has been a post in primetime Whose Line Is It Anyway, a voice actor via Archer, she's also part of a daytime talk show panel on The Talk, and she just recently wrapped Criminal Minds for the series. While she was on the latter program, the actress portrayed the role of Dr. Tara Lewis; a brilliant woman who understands the criminal mind and proved to be essential in different cases.

But then, it's worth noting that Heughan only said Tyler was just a guest on set, and she isn't also wearing period costume. So now, it's safe to say she will not be joining the actor and Balfe in Outlander season 5.

Meanwhile, RadioTimes reported that the events in the fifth installment will pick up where the season four finale left off. Thus, it would likely start with Jamie (Heughan) receiving an order from Governor Tryon asking him to find and kill his godfather Murtagh.

According to Richard Rankin (plays Roger), Outlander season 5 will start off with the cliffhanger in the season four finale. He said that while there'll be a little passage of time, there's still a lot of going on for the characters, and many of new relationships will be forged as well.

As for the cast members, Heughan and Balfe (portrays Claire) are expected to reprise their role, alongside Rankin, Sophie Skelton (Brianna), and Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh). Right now, it's not yet known if the rest of the cast will be back in Outlander season 5, but the majority of the cast seen in the fourth season will probably be back. The announcement of new casting was not yet revealed as well.
