Big Brother Season 21 is about to begin as the door is once again set to open to welcome new housemates. Julie Chen Moonves returns as the series' official host, but who will be the celebrities coming?
According to TV Line, Big Brother Season 21 will be a celebrity edition, which runs during the winter for the past two years. However, CBS has yet to announce who will be the celebrities that fans are about to see living in the house, as things are still to be discussed.
"We have not made our mind up about Celebrity yet," CBS entertainment president Kelly Kahl said. However, there are reports Big Brother Season 21's housemates will be announced in mid-June.
The show has been continuously getting strong ratings in its every outing. All of its three editions last summer got included in top 10 in viewers and key demos and also in top five most-tweeted-about shows in 2018.
But fans wonder if Chen Moonves would return as Big Brother Season 21's host after her husband, Leslie Moonves, got ousted as CBS CEO due to sexual misconduct allegations. Things got even worse after she left as CBS's The Talk's host, per Deadline.
But as Chen Mooves was still the host of the Celebrity midseason spinoff and her contract would still run until the upcoming Big Brother Season 21, she would remain as the new season host. She even gave fans a quick glimpse of the show on Instagram, showing 10 seconds of graphics and voiceover.
Just like its predecessors, Big Brother Season 21 will be following a group of people living together inside the house with its 94 HD cameras and over 113 microphones, recording everything they are doing every day. Someone will be voted out of the house every week. The one who will remain will be receiving the grand prize of $500,000.
CBS announced Big Brother Season 21 would be out on Tuesday, June 25 at 8/7c. GoldDerby reported the new season premiere would be a big two-night event that would continue until Wednesday, June 26. It would then have a Sunday broadcast, starting on June 30.
On July 10, Big Brother Season 21 will have a new schedule - every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. The weekday airings will be moved to 9 p.m., while the Sunday airing will remain at 8 p.m.
Big Brother Season 21's temporary shift to Tuesday premiere is said to accommodate airing of The Amazing Race remaining episodes that air every Wednesday. The show has been launching with a two-hour premiere for the past few seasons, but the new season's debut episodes will only be one-hour long.
