The premiere of Stranger Things Season 3 is still more than two months away but people are already expecting great things for the residents of Hawkins. After all, the new season will be set in the summer time and the kids are growing up and finding romances. However, it looks like things aren't going too well for Eleven and Billy Hargrove.
In the previous season finale, Eleven finally returned to Hawkins and managed to defeat the Mind Flayer. Although it was a difficult task, El successfully closed the portal to the Upside Down. The episode then concluded with the kids attending the winter dance Snow Ball but not before we get a glimpse at the Mind Flayer in the Upside Down. Could this be a hint at what will happen in Stranger Things 3?
Interestingly, Millie Bobby Brown teased on what Eleven is dealing with in Stranger Things Season 3. The Godzilla: King of the Monsters star, who plays El in the series, admitted that her character is in for some major developments in the third season.
"Eleven's character evolves greatly," Brown revealed. "And I can say it's spreading fast - and that's all I can tell you."
This is certainly an interesting statement considering that Brown indicated that the character "evolves" then adding that something is "spreading fast." Not surprisingly, people believe that it might have something to do with the Mind Flayer trying to reach out to Eleven from the Upside Down and attempting to use her to open a portal once again.
It has already been confirmed by series producer Shawn Levy that the Mind Flayer will still be the main villain in the third season. In addition to that, the monster may have already identified its target and their weakness. Unfortunately, this could mean something really bad is about to happen to El in Stranger Things 3.
On a lighter note, the latest promo for Stranger Things Season 3 features a fun scene at the Hawkins public pool. It shows the housewives of Hawkins, including Mrs. Wheeler, waiting for Billy Hargrove to take his turn as the pool's lifeguard.
Billy might be enjoying all the attention in the new clip but fans believe things aren't going to turn out so well for Max's brother. Some angry husbands might put the boy in his place and there's still that mysterious growth on his arm that was seen in the third season's lengthy trailer. Either way, Billy is definitely not safe this year.
Stranger Things Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on July 4.
