The laughs will continue as ABC ordered for America's Funniest Home Videos Season 30. The network renewed the show for two seasons after Season 29's highly-anticipated $100,000 episode.
ABC included America's Funniest Home Videos on the list of its shows that would be out until 2021. So, fans are about to see the network's longest-running primetime entertainment series for two years more.
ABC also ordered for Videos After Dark, a new comedy reality series from America's Funniest Home Videos producers. It would also be hosted by Bob Saget and would play as its executive producer.
America's Funniest Home Videos Season 29 got 17% total viewers compared to its previous season. Hence, it is the most watched season in six years.
"It is with a great sense of pride we look to our 30th and 31st-year pickup," America's Funniest Home Videos executive producer Vin Di Bona said, per Deadline. "Our audience depends on us to deliver quality family programs, and we delight in the capacity to give the nation and the world at least one great belly laugh a week!"
Di Bona proudly said America's Funniest Home Videos had been part of almost every household in America since it started. After three decades, the series still resonates as viewers continuously show their support.
The kids who used to watch Bob Saget as America's Funniest Home Videos host are now grown and old enough to stay up with him until 10 p.m. to watch his new show Videos After Dark. It is also set to feature home videos, but with a twist - the clips are meant for an older audience.
Meanwhile, America's Funniest Home Videos Season 29 ended with the highly-anticipated $100,000 episode. There were nine winning videos that competed for the said ultimate cash prize. There were various hilarious footages, including mishaps with toys and other blunders happening in the snow.
According to the Futon Critic, America's Funniest Home Videos has been giving away more than $15 million worth of cash prizes since it officially started in 1990 after its television special aired in 1989. It also has featured over 2 million home videos that gave laughs to every viewer.
ABC has yet to announce when America's Funniest Home Videos Season 30 will hit the small screens, but it is expected to be out in 2020. It will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and may retain its Sunday schedule at 7 p.m. ET.
