Billions Season 4 is set to wrap up its course today, June 9. But ahead of its fourth season finale premiere, the network, Showtime, has already confirmed the show's renewal last month.
With its stunning and impressive almost 5 million viewers per episode this season, Showtime proudly shared to the public that Billions will definitely return for a new season which will serve as the fifth installment to the show.
And based on recent reports, the popular and thrilling drama series remains to be the most-watched and most rated scripted material on Showtime. In addition, the show has received a surprising 8.4 rating out of 10 on IMDB which is a very good achievement for a show that has run for four seasons.
Accordingly, it is only fitting as to why the show has been renewed for a new season. But while the new season has been already confirmed, the actual release date is not yet shared to the public.
One possible reason behind is that the fourth season is still in the process of wrapping up its course. So, the preparation and filming of the fifth season will surely follow after a few weeks or even months.
Even so, there are already speculations and theories that Billions Season 5 might arrive next year after the winter season. This is actually because the third season had the same schedule. It initially premiered in March of 2018 and ended in June of the same year.
Followed by the fourth season, which is the current installment in Showtime, it arrived in March of 2019 and set to end this month. Hence, there is a huge chance that Billions Season 5 may follow the same pattern as what it had during its earlier seasons.
In terms of the cast of the upcoming season, it looks like that everyone from the cast will reprise their roles. And this is in consideration of the fact that no one actually died during the premise of the current season.
Nevertheless, this is not to say that no one will meet their unfortunate and yet possible demise on the finale of the fourth season. Besides, the episode is still on its way to the audience's television.
The same is actually true and applicable to its overall plot. So, it is very likely that spoilers, theories, and predictions will come to the media after the Season 4 finale.
