The fate of Ashley Morales in A Million Little Things season 2 is still unknown. However, this hasn't stopped Christian Ochoa, who plays the character, from talking about the plans for the show.
In an interview with Popcorn Talk Network, Ochoa confirmed that the writers have been planning Ashley's return in A Million Little Things season 2. Viewers will recall that the character left for Spain in a February episode in the first season, but she still holds the key to some of the secrets of her deceased boss, Jon (played by Ron Livingston).
"We're trying to figure out, um, you know, when, how, if she's coming back," Ochoa said in the interview. "The writers have these incredible ideas um, about ways that it could."
Ochoa also wished that her character's motivation for coming back will be explored in A Million Little Things season 2. Hopefully, her new storyline will not just revolve around her boss so that viewers will see there's more to her character than being someone's assistant.
For instance, the actress wants to know why her character is keeping all these secrets. She hopes that Ashley's dark, mysterious and weird behavior will also be explored if she's coming back to A Million Little Things season 2.
But there hasn't been any confirmation about the return of her character from the network so far. Executive producer DJ Nash told TV Line that viewers had not seen the last of Ashley.
Nash said that since A Million Little Things has a soap opera element to it, people and things come back if the story needed it. The writers purposely had to send Ashley away to Spain in the previous season, but the showrunner assured the fans that she's not yet out of the picture.
A Million Little Things season 2 is set to return this fall on a Thursday night schedule just like the second half of season 1. Confirmed to be back are most of the main cast such as David Guintoli, Allison Miller, Romany Malco, Christina Moses, Grace Park, James Roday, Lizzy Greene, and Stephanie Szostak.
It's unclear, however, if Livingston will have some participation in A Million Little Things season 2 given that he's been mostly dead and appearing in flashback scenes in the first season. Nash won't confirm the actor's return but instead told Entertainment Weekly that Livingston is working on a new show.
