It's a tight battle for June's Brand Reputation Rankings for individual girl group members, but by its end, it was BLACKPINK's Jennie who took the top spot.
Based on the survey conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute, the Brand Reputation Rankings monitors and analyzes consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes for 455 girl group members and it was BLACKPINK's Jennie, followed by Red Velvet's Irene who had a close race for the top spot, Soompi reported.
BLACKPINK Jennie forged ahead and held on to the top spot for the sixth month in a row with an index of 1,969,477. Key phrases associated with Jennie are concert, fashion, Kill This Love, cute, delightful, and sexy. She received 60.59 percent approval from netizens.
Trailing Jennie is Red Velvet's Irene with an impressive 1,838,995 index. She enjoyed a 39.21 percent surge in her score since last month, which is unsurprising because of Red Velvet's upcoming comeback.
Just a couple of points behind, another BLACKPINK member, Jisoo came in at third place with 1,821,308 indexes for June. She also improved her index by 9.69 percent since May. All of the BLACKPINK members made it to the Top 30. Rose took the 14th spot while Lisa rounded up the survey at #24.
The results of the survey are consistent with the Brand Reputation Survey released for girl groups for June, BT reported. BLACKPINK consistently led the pack for the sixth month in a row and have dominated for the keywords Kill This Love, concert, United States, pretty and cute. BLACKPINK continues to conquer the world with their Your Area World Tour, successfully performing for sold-out arenas in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
BLACKPINK is also the top choice among international artists who wish to work with Kpop groups. The Chainsmokers, who have previously worked with BTS expressed an interest in teaming up with Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose. In a recent interview, the recently reunited Jonas Brothers also said that they would be excited to work with the Kpop girl group that is charming the world with their edgy music and on-point dance moves.
BLACKPINK continues to enjoy popularity locally and overseas amid a scandal rocking the entertainment agency handling their career, YG Entertainment. Last week, a new drug scandal involving iKON leader B.I compelled the singer-songwriter to leave the group and the label while YG founder and CEO Yang Hyun Suk has also vacated his position because of the negative feedback besieging his company.
