It cannot be denied that Lee Min Ho is among the most popular Asian actors up until now. The 31-year-old Hallyu superstar first gained popularity after his exemplary portrayal as Gu Jun Pyo in the 2009 hit television series titled Boys Over Flowers, which won him the Best New Actor award at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards. The role, also, opened a lot of opportunities to Suzy Bae's former lover that he was tapped to become the lead stars of other successful shows such as The Heirs (2013), City Hunter (2011), and Legend of the Blue Sea (2016).

Along with the glitz and glamor brought by fame, Lee Min Ho, also, has his fair share of controversies and issues that continue to hound him up to this writing. In fact, in an official statement released by MYM Entertainment on May 22, it was revealed that the Hallyu star's agency is running after those commenters who keep on writing posts and remarks that affects the name of the Mackerel Run actor. It added that a lawsuit against Min Ho's tormentors was filed with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office.

MYM Entertainment warned that it would not hesitate to take more legal actions in the future if the malicious commenters continue to spread lies and hatred. The agency revealed that the groundless rumors and fabricated reports had affected Lee Min Ho mentally and psychologically.

"These illegal acts have been continuing on for years, and the reputation and image of our artist have suffered due to slander and hateful comments caused by false information," the talent agency of Lee Min Ho furthered. "We'll continue to take legal action, and we ask for continued attention and tips from fans," it added.

Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho is said to start filming his new project titled The King: The Eternal Monarch later this year. Besides Suzy Bae's former boyfriend, other personalities that are said to appear in the upcoming new series include Kim Ge Eun and Woo Do Hwan. Go Eun, according to reports, would portray two characters in the show: detective Jung Tae Eul and a criminal named Luna. Do Hwan, for his part, would play as public service officer Jo Eun Seon.

On June 18, Where Stars Land actor Kim Kyung Nam has been confirmed to join Lee Min Ho in the imminent The King: The Eternal Monarch series. He is set to portray as Kang Shin Hae, who is a detective that has a tragic past. Spoilers suggested that Kyung Nam's character possesses exemplary skills in investigation and solving crimes despite his cold personality. He will be working with Detective Jung Tae Eul and, later, develop romantic feelings for her.
