TWICE is proving its powerhouse capabilities they broke their record on the MelOn Chart for 2019 girl group releases.

According to a report by All Kpop, JYP Entertainment's super popular girl group recently made another milestone as Fancy, TWICE's comeback became the first and only girl group song so far to take the top spot on the MelOn chart.

This is a pretty significant accomplishment for the music site that is usually ruled by boy group releases. Even more interesting is that TWICE's Yes or Yes was the only other girl group release that made it to the top spot of the MelOn chart.

It seems that MelOn fans are loyal ONCE as well because TWICE's Fancy puts them ahead of the pack as the girl group song with the most weeks spent on the chart of the platform in 2019.

TWICE's Fancy stays strong on MelOn with eight weeks. ITZY's Dalla Dalla stayed for seven weeks. BLACKPINK's megahit Kill this Love only charted for five weeks. TWICE's Yes or Yes stayed strong for two weeks tying with MAMAMOO's Gogobebe with two weeks.

Based on MelOn records, TWICE's Fancy also leads the girl group song with the highest number of unique listeners for 2019. The song charted 763,049 unique listeners, trailed by BLACKPINK's Kill this Love with 733,800, MAMAMOO's Gogobebe with 674,283 and ITZY's Dalla Dalla with 443,376.

TWICE seems to have no plans of slowing down because their comeback album Fancy You has been well received by fans. Within its first week of release, its sales peaked at 150,000 albums sold. The MV for Fancy has also been viewed by fans over 129 million times since its release.

It can be recalled that Fancy You, the seventh EP by TWICE, was released by JYP Entertainment last April 22 and featured the title track, Fancy. Fancy You is TWICE's comeback album after releasing their EP Yes or Yes in November 2018.
