Based on the synopsis of Agents of SHIELD season 6 episode 6, Fitz and Simmons have fought through time, space, and alternate realities just to find each other. Now that they are closer than ever, their demons were the only ones that could stop their reunion.
The majority of fans are hoping to see these two characters reuniting, but they didn't expect that their reunion would be like this. In the upcoming episode, viewers will likely see them having a happy moment, yet it's worth noting that Fitz was ordered to go back in time.
He has a very particular mission, and if ever he fails, it is possible there would be a severe blowback in which lives could be on the line. What's more intriguing about the new episode is that the promo features some flashback, or it might be a potential alternate reality.
But no matter what happens, many viewers are hoping that by the end of this episode, Fitz and Simmons would get a little bit closer to the SHIELD team. After all, a full-on reunion with every character is essential on the series at this point. Meanwhile, it has been already confirmed that there will be Agents of SHIELD season 7, yet the most-recent numbers are still crucial right now to find out if there will be season 8 or not. Right now, nothing is 100 percent clear, but fans are hoping they'll have a few more seasons in the future.
However, the previous episode generated only a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Still, many are hoping the series would bounce back for the upcoming episode, especially since it will focus more on Fitz and Simmons' reunion.
