A month before Suits Season 8 concludes, the longest-running legal drama has been renewed for a ninth season. But sadly, this will already serve as the series' final season.
Ever since its arrival on USA Network back in 2011, the show has been already loved by many. As it appeared, it maintained a great reception and viewership rating in its course. But as the latest season wrapped up last February, it obtained its lowest viewership number at one million on average.
Even so, Suits remained to be one of the network's strongest scripted material as per TV Line.
During the final moments of Season 8, everyone witnessed how Harvey and Donna expressed their feelings for each other. Although this is already given since the beginning, it still shocked the whole fandom of the show.
And looking at the recently released trailer of the new season as Donna blatantly tells Harvey that it is worth the wait, it seemingly appears that the two will establish a relationship that most of the fans have been waiting for. But aside from the Harvey-Donna relationship, another duo might be featured in the upcoming and final season of Suits.
According to Digital Spy, the on-screen married couple, Meghan Markle and Patrick J Adams, might return for the final season to reprise their roles as Rachel Zane and Mike Ross, respectively.
Many of the fans are looking forward to having them again on-screen as these two characters played vital roles in the early seasons of the show. However, the show's creator, Aaron Korsh, revealed with Deadline that the speculations about Meghan Markle's return are all untrue.
On the other hand, he did not put an end on the possibilities of Patrick J Adam's return to the show. He hinted that his return as Mike Ross could happen in the middle of the new season. And this is just fitting, considering that Mike Ross' character is one of the reasons why Suits has become a great series.
But it is still worth noting that there are no confirmations yet about his possible return. For all we know, all of the main characters on Season 8 will return for the new season.
Suits Season 9 is set to arrive on July 17, on USA Network, with a total of ten episodes which makes it the shortest season of the show.
