Korean top model Han Hye Jin recently unveiled images from her Harper's Bazaar pictorial and the fierce photographs are taking netizens' breaths away. The model said that she toned her body for two months specifically for the pictorial and it was an effort that paid off.  Some fans, however, are not on board with the "blackface" concept.

According to her a report by All Kpop, the magazine feature was intended to celebrate Han Hye Jin's 20th anniversary in the fashion industry as a model. It seems as if the pictorial did not disappoint with fans of the model gushing over the high fashion concept and the edginess of the images.

Harper's Bazaar issue will drop this July and feature Han Hye Jin in full body paint for the black and white concept. The model shared that in preparation for the pictorial, she made sure to work out and tone her body to do justice to the concept. The model also thanked the people behind the scenes for pulling off a successful concept and the great outcome of their pictorial.

"I thought the concept would be fun, and sure enough, it was. I'm happy that all of the preparation for his photoshoot paid off, and I'm happier than the photos came out great," Han Hye Jin said as she asked for fans to continue to cheer her on.

Meanwhile, some fans on her Instagram have expressed worry that Han Hye Jin may be criticized for blackface with the concept of the pictorial which required her to be painted in full black.

"Can someone understand that this is not blackface and that models don't decide the concept of the photoshoot?" her fan salma.abril said in defense of Han Hye Jin's team.

Another fan expressed confidence that the model and the Harper's Bazaar team will not be criticized because of the high fashion concept of the material. "Korean ppl don't think this as a black face or body. It seems it intended to be more artistic. In Korea,if u take a photo with all nude with ur skin color, it can be too sexual, and it will ruin their intention. I think they wanted to prevent it, " jeehyunyoo explained about Korean people's perception of art.

Meanwhile, fans are actively discussing online whether Han Hye Jin's cover shoot was considered blackface or not in different forums. Blackface or the act of painting oneself in black or brown to enhance as the costume is considered as offensive and racist.
