Royal fans are always interested in what goes on with their beloved royal family, and they are always on the lookout for more information about its members, most especially, Queen Elizabeth II and her grandchildren.

While it appears that Queen Elizabeth II is very close with Prince Charles' children, William and Harry, it recently came to light that she was also very close with Princess Anne's children, in particular, Zara and her husband, Mike Tindall.

According to a report by The Sun, the queen may even be closer to Zara and Mike than she is with Prince William and Kate Middleton because she feels more comfortable around them. While little is known about the Queen's relationship with her eldest granddaughter, it has been said that the two women share common passions, and this is something that brings them together.

It can be recalled that Princess Anne's daughter Zara Phillips got married to English rugby captain Mike Tindall in Scotland a few months after Prince William got married to Kate Middleton in a royal affair back in 2011. Zara and Mike chose to get married in Scotland after years of dating, but their wedding was slightly more laid back without much of the royal protocols that William and Kate were required to follow, Vogue reported.

The report indicated that Queen Elizabeth II liked spending time with Zara and her husband Mike because they made her feel normal.

"Mike is a down-to-earth Yorkshireman who makes her laugh and makes Zara very happy. I'm not sure if she has a similar sense of humor to Mike, but she does have a sense of the ridiculous which he seems to have too," Ingrid Sewald, editor of the Majesty Magazine said.

Queen Elizabeth II also shared a common passion for horses as her eldest granddaughter and was said to be very proud of her accomplishments. The Queen has reportedly invested in a lot of horses for Zara.

Zara Tindall is an accomplished equestrian and an Olympic Silver Medallist in 2012 on top of her other achievements in the field. Queen Elizabeth bonds with her granddaughter over the topic.

It was said that the Queen also prefers normalcy over those that pander to her and is sick of all the royal drama that the Palace regularly deals with over intrigues hoisted against Prince William and Prince Harry and their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
