The expectation for the Game of Thrones Prequel is quite high with the success of its original series. George R.R. Martin, whose novel A Song of Ice and Fires inspired the show, believed nothing could top epic fantasy drama's fame - not even its spinoff.
In an interview on Maltin on Movies podcast, Martin told the film critic host Leonard Maltin and his daughter, Jessie Maltin, he is not sure if he will ever experience the same level of success of Game of Thrones again.
"The scale of Game of Thrones' success has - reaching all over the world and invading the culture to [such an extent]," Martin said. "It's not something anyone could ever anticipate, not something I expect to ever experience again."
Martin has multiple projects in the works today. It includes the developments of five shows on HBO, three of which are Game of Thrones spinoffs, and a video game.
The success of Game of Thrones also reflects on the parents who named their children after the show's famous characters, especially the dragon queen's moniker, Daenerys. Martin assumed kindergarten teachers would probably hate him with the "a" and "y" in Daenerys' name when these kids start going to school.
Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones Prequel is now in the works, as the cameras start rolling in Belfast. The show is currently in production, and little details about its set location and more are emerging online.
However, it remains to be seen what will be the series' official title. Martin suggested it be called The Long Night, given its plotline that would be held thousands of years ago before Game of Thrones took place.
It would also reportedly chronicle the time the White Walkers set foot in Westeros and the history of the Night King. Although Martin's title seems to be fitting, HBO has yet to recognize his suggestion.
HBO uses Bloodmoon as the Game of Thrones Prequel working title, and it looks like it will be the show's official title. The fansite Watchers on the Wall revealed an alleged official logo of the upcoming spinoff, and it bears the same name Blood Moon - only that it is two words.
The logo shows the second on "O" in Blood and first "O" in Moon have dark lines that seem to be red, and it is on the top of each other that makes it looks like "8." The word Moon is also at the bottom of Blood, separated by a spear. So what does it mean?

Winter is Coming noted HBO might not bother to create a logo if it is only a working title, so there is a possibility the Game of Thrones Prequel would be officially called Blood Moon. However, the network has yet to confirm the news, so fans should only take this assumption with a grain of salt.
