It’s been only a few weeks since MacGyver Season 3 has ended. But it seemingly appears that the production is quite too busy these days preparing for the upcoming season of the show.
Not long ago, new details have been revealed about the changes that will happen with the new season’s cast members. Primarily, there were reports that uncovered the big-bad MacGyver who will serve as Mac’s nemesis when the fourth season arrives.
These revelations were followed by the apparent promotion of Levy Tran from being a recurring cast to having a regular role in MacGyver Season 4. Levy first appeared in season 3 as Desi Nguyen. Her role was primarily perceived as a replacement to Jack Dalton’s place when co-lead actor, George Eads, left the production and the show.
While it is likely that Levy is to take the co-lead role in place of Lucas Till’s former partner, there are much newer reports that state otherwise. And although Levy Tran is now promoted as a series regular, she might not bag the co-lead role after all.
Earlier this week, the news about a new actor joining the cast of MacGyver Season 4 circulated all over the media. And not long after, it has been confirmed that Henry Ian Cusick, the popular Lost actor, will be joining the show as a series regular in the new season.
According to Deadline, he will play the role of Russ, who happens to be an Oxford-educated former military operative. Although it has been widely made known as well that Russ is set to be an opposite lead to Lucas Till’s Angus MacGyver, there are speculations that this might not be the endgame.
As it appears, the majority of the fandom perceives Russ as a possible replacement to Jack Dalton’s position in the team per Cartermatt. And this is in consideration to the fact that he and Jack share the same background, excluding obviously the financial aspect as Russ is a very rich individual.
Even so, it is worth remembering that these are mere speculations only. But whatever the case, the fans are pretty hopeful that MacGyver Season 4 will bring all-new exciting, thrilling, and heart-stopping episodes.
There is not enough word yet as to when the new season of MacGyver will arrive. But there are viable theories that it will finally premiere in the early months of 2020 and that it will provide a total of 13 episodes for the new season.
