Is Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) going to die in Big Little Lies season 2? That's what viewers believe especially after the latest episode aired on HBO last Sunday, June 30.
But before getting into that, Big Little Lies season 2 episode 5 hints that Bonnie will continue to struggle with the secret of the Monterey 5. Per the episode synopsis, the character will relieve painful memories from her past, which could have only been triggered because of her trauma for accidentally becoming the trigger person in the death of Perry (played by Alexander Skarsgard).
The teaser of Big Little Lies season 2 episode 5 also shows Bonnie getting quite paranoid. She's the only from this group of women -- who all saw how Perry died -- who has been internalizing what could happen if the authorities found out what they did.
Meanwhile, in the final moments of Big Little Lies season 2 episode 4, Bonnie's mom, Elizabeth (played by Crystal Fox), had a vision of her daughter drowning in the ocean. After this brief scene, Elizabeth woke up in her hospital bed following the complications of a stroke.
That foreshadowing of Bonnie's fate in Big Little Lies season 2 is a huge part of the final three episodes of the series. Producer Jean Marc-Valle confirmed to Esquire that Elizabeth does have some abilities that should give Bonnie some hints she's in big trouble.
Meanwhile, Big Little Lies season 2 has probably also set up a huge showdown between Nicole Kidman's Celeste and Meryl Streep's Mary Louise in the finale, which airs in two weeks. After Mary Louise expressed in episode 4 that she's keen on taking her grandchildren away from their mother, Celeste has lawyered up to fight for her right.
Mary Louise strongly believes that Celeste and her group of friends had something to do with Perry's accidental death. She has been behaving oddly towards Bonnie but has not yet quite pinpoint what she did. Perhaps if she'll pressure Celeste, by making it appear that she is an unfit mother, Mary Louise might finally know what happened to her son.
"You're a mess, Celeste," Mary Louise told her daughter-in-law, per Huffington Post. "And until you're better, we need to think about protecting the well-being of our boys. They're at risk here. They're at risk in your care."
Big Little Lies season 2 airs every Sunday at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
