Love dies on Love Island season 5 this week as Michael Griffiths gets cozy with Joanna Chimonides and completely forgets about Amber Gill. Only last week, Michael has been professing that Amber certainly smites him, but as she was recently sent to Casa Amor, he quickly ditches her for the new girl.
Before the shift in the cast in Love Island season 5, Michael proudly declared that he's not going to change his feelings for Amber even as six new women are coming to the Beach House. But once he and the new girl Joanna got into a heart-to-heart talk by the fire pit, he immediately told her that he would like to get to know her better, according to Metro.
The teaser to the upcoming episode of Love Island season 5, airing Monday, July 1, has fans reeling with anger as Michael is seen passionately kissing Joanna. Worse, Michael told her that he had doubted his relationship with Amber in Love Island season 5, according to The Sun.
On the other hand, Daily Mail reported that Michael and Joanna's steamy kiss was part of a sexy game of Charades. They were instructed to please each other physically and was following the rules to stay in the game.
However, he did tell Joanna during their downtime that there's a "blip" in his time relationship Amber in Love Island season 5. He said that Amber could be quite childish and there are times when he's not straight with her.
But other fans think Michael and Joanna do share a different spark compared to Amber in Love Island season 5. They also cannot wait to see her reaction once the Islanders are brought together in the later episodes.
"That Villa is going to erupt if Amber comes back to find Michael with another girl!" one fan said.
Michael, however, also confessed that he is not Joanna's type while he and Amber are very much alike in many ways. However, he's still determined to change Joanna's mind if, in the end, she's the one who's suited for her.
