Arrow season 8 is in the middle of preparations, and while the actual filming has not yet begun, executive producer Beth Schwartz teased that they have some big surprises in mind for this final season. A few of these surprises might be in the form of returning characters from the previous episodes.
Schwartz told TV Line that the writers have been brainstorming on which character to bring back for Arrow season 8. The executive producer also revealed that this final season would be "humongous" because they are planning to "fit it all in" to complete the story.
ButArrowseason 8 will just be 10 episodes, which is less than the usual installments as the previous seasons. With so many returning cast members up for one final scene, how will everything fit together cohesively?
Schwartz admitted that they are quite challenged to do Arrow season 8 given its shorter run. Hence, they have to carefully think from beginning to end. The producer, however, refused to share any specifics about casting for now.
The CW announced that Arrow season 8 will begin its run on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9:00 p.m. The show is going back to its original schedule and pairing up with The Flash after having been shifted to Wednesday nights.
"I'm excited that we're going to be on after The Flash on Tuesday evenings because I feel like that's a pairing I've always wanted to have," Arrow star Stephen Amell stated on social media following the announcement of the show's new schedule.
Meanwhile, Arrow season 8 will also feature the biggest TV crossover in The CW with the "Crisis On Infinite Earths" storyline as a follow-up to the "Elseworlds" crossover last season. Actress LaMonica Garrett, who plays The Monitor, confirmed in a post on Twitter that the cast recently had a table read of this significant episode along with Amell and the rest of the main stars.
The actual plot details of this episode have been kept hush-hush, but fans believe it will be different from the comic book version of "Crisis On Infinite Earths." Fans also speculate that this special event will bring the death of Oliver Stone, thus ending the Arrow season 8.
The CW hasn't commented on the speculations except to confirm that the crossover episode will air during the midseason finale and the midseason premiere of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.
