Are Molly-Mae Hague and Maura Higgins friends outside of Love Island season 5? Fans speculate that they know each other or at least run the same social circles as they have the same background as social media influencers.
It seemed odd to fans that Molly-Mae and Maura remained quite chummy despite being involved in a crazy love triangle with Tommy Fury. Thus, viewers of Love Island season 5 assumed that these girls had been friends a long time ago, so there are no hard feelings towards each other in this controversial dating reality TV contest.
According to Screen Rant, some fans even pointed out that Molly-Mae and Maura were on a trip with other social media influencers to Dubai last March. Someone also claimed that they saw Molly-Mae and Maura having dinner together before their appearance on Love Island season 5.
But producers released a statement through a spokesperson to categorically deny the assumptions, per Digital Spy. The two women have never met until they saw each other in the villa and quickly hit it off.
Meanwhile, Tommy, the man both ladies have been fawning over, refused to reveal if something happened between him and Molly-Mae under the sheets in a prior episode of Love Island season 5. He was talking to Curtis, who told Tommy upfront that he heard weird noises coming from Tommy's side of the bed.
But in the latest episode of Love Island season 5, Tommy got a scolding from the rest of the cast when he kissed Belle Hassan, the new girl at the villa, far too long. The two were in a challenge, but it suddenly became too close for comfort that the rest of the contestants tried to pull the pair apart.
Molly-Mae also had the same challenge with the new guy, Dan. However, their kiss didn't even last two seconds. Thus, fans of Love Island season 5 were quite upset with Tommy's behavior. Is he going to ditch Molly-Mae and pursue Belle?
But the biggest tension on Love Island season 5 happened with Amber, Michael, and Joanna. He swore in a previous episode that he's serious about Amber. However, with his partner in Casa Amor, Michael immediately turned his sights on the new girl Joanna and got cozy with her in the latest episode. Viewers think that Michael should be the next to exit and his fate will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.
