It has been a truly long journey but Elliot Alderson's story will finally end this year. It has been confirmed that Mr. Robot Season 4 will be the last one for the USA Network series and there is little doubt that fsociety will be going out with a big bang. But when exactly can fans expect to see Rami Malek reprise his role as the gifted hacker? There are speculations that people will have to wait until late October for the final season.
The third season actually aired back in 2017 and people have been hoping that the fourth season will immediately follow the next year. Unfortunately, creator Sam Esmail had been understandably busy with other projects. In addition to that, Rami Malek worked on Bohemian Rhapsody, where his performance as the late Freddie Mercury earned him an Academy Award. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that Season 4 is no longer happening.
There are speculations that Mr. Robot Season 4 will premiere in late October. This would coincide with reports that the final season will have a distinct Christmas theme, which some believed meant that the show will conclude on Christmas Day or New Years Eve. If this is the case, people will only need to wait a few more months for the show's return. In the meantime, Christian Slater assures fans that Sam Esmail has something truly special lined up for them in the fourth season.
Christian Slater reconfirmed that Sam Esmail "isn't interested in sticking around longer or finding excuses to weave in another season" since he already "knows the exact story that he wants to tell." With that in mind, Slater wants fans to know that "there will be moments when they are confused, surprised and shocked." Additionally, the Heathers star shared what he believes is the show's lasting legacy.
"As far as what this show has brought into the world, it's been helpful in raising people's awareness of the dangers," Slater said. "So, it's been an interesting challenge, while all this insanity is going on all around us, to do a show that's all about insanity and chaos going around us. But Sam has found a nice way to weave the two together."
Mr. Robot has not yet been given an official premiere date. Nevertheless, the final season is expected to air on USA Network by late 2019.
