HBO's filming of the Game of Thrones Prequel in Belfast is reportedly about to finish, and the production will move to a new place. Earlier reports revealed the spinoff series would also be set in Italy, and it now has an official shooting date.

Il Messaggero, the Italian publication that revealed the show would film at the Grotta del Turco, confirmed the production in Italy would begin on July 11 and would last until July 16. HNEntertaiment noted the filming in Belfast, on the other hand, would come to an end on July 10.

In the behind-the-scenes snaps, some props of the show hint that the Grotta del Turco set will be used as the location for Casterly Rock. As the Game of Thrones Prequel will be set thousands of years before the original series, Casterly Rock was still used owned by the Casterlys and not the Lannisters.

According to Winter is Coming, the spinoff series may introduce Lann the Clever, the one who founded House Lannister. History has it that he used his wit to deceive the Casterlys to own the Casterly Rock.

Other details about the Game of Thrones Prequel like its characters remain under wraps. However, HBO earlier revealed its cast members would be Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse, Miranda Richardson, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Toby Regbo, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Naomi Ackie, Marquis Rodriguez, John Simms, Richard McCabe, John Heffernan, and Dixie Egerickx will also be in the show.

HBO has yet to announce when the spinoff series will hit the small screens, but there are assumptions it will be out in 2021. HBO exec Casey Bloys is not even sure about its release date.

"Shooting a pilot in June and having it on the air a year later feels a little rushed, but it's too soon to tell," he said, via Comic Book. The publication also noted that knowing how the television production works and as Game of Thrones has dominated the pop culture, it may be better if HBO would let the time pass before it airs the prequel.

Bloys even confirmed that he would wait and see how the prequel would work before it greenlights other spinoff series. "I certainly do not want to overdo it. ... I think Game of Thrones is a fantastic property, but I don't want to just be the home of prequels and sequels and all that stuff," he explained.
