Big Bang's T.O.P has been discharged from military service amid a lot of fanfare.
The singer was discharged from the military on July 6th 7pm KST at the Yongsan Craft Center in Yongsan-gu and was greeted by a sea of fans and reporters at his last day of work.
His fellow Big Bang members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung enlisted in February and March last year and are scheduled to be discharged in October and November 2019.
Former Big Bang member Seungri has yet to enlist in the military.
When asked about the singer's military discharge, an official from YG Entertainment said, "We have no further comments. T.O.P will be returning home quietly."
T.O.P was originally scheduled to begin his mandatory military service in February 2017, however, in July 2017, he was charged with purchasing marijuana and received a suspended prison sentence with 2 years probation and fined 12,000 won.
In accordance with the shortened service period that went in effect last July, since he enlisted in January 2018, his discharge date was shortened from August to July 2019.
