After the sexual harassment of MOMOLAND by some obscene fans in Mexico went viral, MLD Entertainment has responded to fans' clamor to take legal action. However, they are targetting netizens who are spreading malicious rumors and comments online to teach them a lesson.
In their statement, MLD Entertainment disclosed that Merries had called their attention, the official fandom of MOMOLAND on the presence of malicious comments and false reports spreading on social media which seeks to ruin the image of the Kpop artist group and its members, reported Soompi.
MLD Entertainment said that they had employed the law firm Wonjin in gathering evidence against these malicious commenters. The agency also vowed to protect MOMOLAND from the malicious behavior of these disrespectful netizens.
"In light of the extreme damages suffered by our artists due to the out-of-line behavior of these malicious commenters, we plan to take strong measures [against such commenters] in the future, without any leniency. We will continue to do our utmost to protect the rights of our artists in the future as well," MLD said in their statement about MOMOLAND.
While fans have welcomed this statement from MLD Entertainment, the company did not mention what actions it will take against the perpetrators of the alleged sexual harassment that took place in the MOMOLAND concert and meet and greet session in Mexico.
MLD Entertainment also did not confirm nor deny that there were members of the audience who were yelling obscenities and sexual slurs against MOMOLAND members during their VIP fan meet as reported by one fan on Twitter.
It can be recalled that the organizers of the MOMOLAND concert in Mexico acknowledged that a man had been caught allegedly masturbating during the concert through a Twitter post. They assured that the police had arrested the perpetrator.
"Venue security catch that awful guy, and he was taken by the police. We are sorry that people like this exist," Academia Ninshi posted on Twitter.
It was also unclear what happened to the rude men who were shouting sexual obscenities at MOMOLAND members at the VIP Meet and Greet event that was shared by one of the Merries who attended the event reported BT.
It can be recalled that the incident was reported by one fan on Twitter, which raised the hackles of MOMOLAND fans around the world as they called for justice for what the members suffered. They also aired their support for the group and said that what the girls suffered was disgusting and unfair.
