There's a lot of anticipation with the release of The Expanse season 4 on Amazon. There's a big possibility that fans will see the first teaser of the new season in the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con event this July.

According to TV Line, the cast and crew of The Expanse season 4 will be presenting at the annual fan convention on Saturday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m. Gracing the panel are executive producers Naren Shankar and Ty Franck, as well as stars Wes Chatham (as Amos Burton), Steven Strait (as Jim Holden), Dominique Tipper (as Naomi Nagata), Shohreh Aghdashloo (as Chrisjen Avasarala), Cas Anvar (as Alex Kamal) and Frankie Adams (as Roberta 'Bobbie' W. Draper).

There are hopes that the executive producers might announce The Expanse season 4 release date at Comic-Con, along with the unveiling of the first teaser. As it is, fans have no idea about the upcoming release since there has been plenty of secrecy while this show was filming.

The Expanse season 4 moved from Syfy to Amazon after the cable network decided not to renew the series. According to actor Anvar, this shift has been a blessing in disguise. The actor told Fandom Spotlite that while Syfy was supportive of The Expanse from the very beginning, ultimately, the move will enable the show to reach more audience.

"We're not restricted by time, we don't have to bang on 47 minutes every episode, we don't have to worry about commercial breaks," Anvar revealed. "We don't have the restrictions in terms of content: it's darker, it's sexier, it's a little more gritty, it's a little more real."

Meanwhile, The Expanse season 4 will likely pick up after the events of the third season, where The Rings opened to allow the Rocinante to go through it. Shankar said in previous interviews that The Rings would be a major plot in the coming storyline. For one thing, The Expanse season 4 will finally give viewers a peek of what's on its other side.

However, Earth and Mars are still going to be important to the story in the next season, especially with the addition of new characters. The Expanse season 4 is expected to drop on Amazon sometime at the end of 2019. Production finished last February.
