Legacies season 2 is marked to return on The CW this fall. The show's second year has been confirmed to premiere on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 9:00 p.m.
Upon its release, fans of Legacies season 2 will immediately know of Hope's (Danielle Rose Russell) fate after plunging into a pit where an evil monster has been lurking in the first season finale. Showrunner Julie Plec told TV Guide that Hope is obviously not yet dead but the first few minutes of the first episode back will show how she will find her way back home in Mystic Falls.
Plec also confirmed that Hope would get some help from Ryan Clark (played by Nick Fink). This will be an unlikely pairing since the two do not like each other on Legacies season 2.
"I think when you're stuck with someone - we call it the 'trapped in the elevator' pitch - the result of that is always going to either be you have a new and very important understanding of who that person," the showrunner teased. "And maybe have been able to find your way to common ground and bond or you just really hate them even more than you hated them to begin with."
Plec also revealed that Legacies season 2 would introduce new vampires as well as bring back some familiar faces from The Originals. She has no idea who these characters will be, though, as the writers will still have to figure out everything as Hope's story takes shape.
Legacies season 2 star Matt Davis, however, is hoping to see Candice King reprise her role as Caroline Forbes, per Comic Book. Davis and King have worked together since The Vampire Diaries, so they have quite a history as co-stars.
Davis also said that while King might be quite busy lately since she's raising her daughter, she's still welcome to appear in the series. Having Caroline back would be a good addition to the storyline of Legacies season 2.
As for the new vampire character, Plec teased that they want an old soul from the 15th century who wakes up in the 21st century to find that the rules have immensely changed. This new character will have to figure out how to fit in this modern world of Legacies season 2. Casting is still underway for this new character.
