The First Lady Melania Trump wore a basic black dress for her trip to West Virginia. The trip was in connection with her Be Best campaign.
Some comment was generated by her all black look, considering the Fourth of July commotion she created when she wore her multicolored outfit. Many had felt that was an indication of support on the heels of the Gay Pride celebration, a subtle move considering her husband President Donald Trump's stance.
Melania had a fashion emergency though that she had not counted on, or even gotten aware of, during the program. At the time, there had been a slight drizzle which made the front of her dress damp and see-through, displaying her breasts. Many had been critical on social media.
But Monday, the First Lady seemed to have decided to put that behind her. She wore her black shirt outfit with a black belt and very high stiletto heels. She had rolled up its long sleeves, opting for an easy carefree style. She had her hair styled in loose curls which framed her face.
The 48-year-old FLOTUS had appeared set to fly to renew her efforts for her baby project, Be Best. A tweet from her press secretary revealed it was "Happening Now" in bold letters, saying that the First Lady was on her way to meet with West Virginia state officials as well as local leaders for her campaign.
Since her program also included goals on fighting the opioid crisis in the United States, the trip was also an effort to touch on local efforts being conducted in the war against opioid addiction, which is a major goal in her campaign.
According to the official website of the White House, opioid "dependence, addiction" as well as abuse of it form an "epidemic" that the country needs to address.
Melania's Be Best campaign helps women and children, and their families to cope with the crisis brought about by opioid crisis. It hopes to educate parents and the public on the neonatal abstinence syndrome and how it greatly impacts health, especially during the period of pregnancy.
But while Melania was away, Trump spent his time on social media which is where he chooses to air out his gripes and shocking declarations. In a recent tweet, he chose to direct his criticism at Britain's Theresa May and the United Kingdom, saying it was quite a "mess" that May and "her representatives" had created with Brexit.
He even went on to say that he had given May some advice which she had chosen not to follow.
