It's a challenge to be a member of the royal family with the public looking at your every move. It's even more challenging for former Hollywood actress Meghan Markle, who has become the first biracial American member of the British royal family by virtue of her marriage to Prince Harry.

Meghan revealed her sentiments about her marriage to Prince Harry in an honest conversation with singer Pharrell Williams. During the premiere of The Lion King live-action movie in London, where Duke and Duchess of Sussex were special guests, Meghan had a surprisingly honest reply to the singer after he complimented her marriage.

"I'm so happy for your union," the award-winning singer said, per Us Weekly. "What it means in today's climate, I just wanted to tell you it's so significant for many of us. We cheer you guys on."

The former TV star thanked the "Happy" singer for what he said. However, Meghan also expressed that "they don't make it easy."

The duchess was perhaps referring to the criticisms bombarded to them by the U.K. media after their decision to keep the baptism of their first-born son, Archie Harrison, a very private affair. A lot of members of the press felt slighted about being excluded when they thought they had a good relationship with Prince Harry before.

Tabloids have also been on the Meghan hate train by reporting her alleged conflicts with her in-laws and her royal staff. Made up stories also suggested that she's a difficult person and she has been causing friction with Prince Harry's relationship with friends and family.

Of late, Meghan has also been the subject of much physical scrutiny and fat-shaming after giving birth last May. There have been plenty of criticisms about her pregnancy weight, as well as comparisons to Duchess Kate Middleton, Prince William's wife, who has managed to remain stick-thin despite having three children.

Rumors also say that Prince Harry has been begging his wife to shape up and that there have been stories that she's not losing weight because of postpartum depression. However, these have been unfounded stories.

Despite the nasty comments on her post-pregnancy body, there are also a number of supporters hailing Meghan for not hurrying to lose the extra pounds. One fan said on social media that it looks like the duchess has happily embraced what's natural for her, per Today.

"You know what I really appreciate? Meghan Markle doing these public appearances so soon after having Archie and not hiding her body. Good on her," another fan wrote on Twitter.
