Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, have grown a lot closer compared to a year ago. The sisters-in-law, who are married to Prince Harry and Prince William, respectively, are consistently talking to each other as they go about their day-to-day.

In an interview via The Mirror, royal reporter Carolyn Durand said that the arrival of Archie Harrison helped change the nature of Meghan and Kate's relationship. The two duchesses are talking and texting regularly, and they are figuring out how much more in common they are to one another.

Meghan and Kate, both outsiders in the House of Windsor, have come from different backgrounds and have different tastes. They also have different groups of friends and, as of last June, have separated offices and houses from each other. But the one thing in common with these duchesses is motherhood.

"Catherine and Meghan enjoy seeing each other, and motherhood has definitely brought them closer together," according to Durand via Elle, after Meghan and Kate were spotted together at the Wimbledon. "Kate and Meghan had always planned to attend the final together. Not only is it something that they enjoy, but it's also a chance to remind people that the tabloid stories about their relationship have been wide of the mark."

Before this pleasant public outing, there were reports that Meghan and Kate have been feuding and it's causing a rift between their husbands. However, those reports have now been proven false when sources said that Meghan and Kate are truly relaxed and comfortable around each other.

Meanwhile, Meghan and Prince Harry recently earned the ire of the public who didn't like how they posted a birthday greeting for Prince George, Prince William, and Kate's oldest son, who turned six recently. According to E! News, some royal watchers didn't think it was appropriate that the Sussex royals didn't address Prince George as His Royal Highness when they posted their birthday greetings on social media.

Before that, Meghan was also the subject of criticisms when her bodyguard barred a man from taking her photos at the Wimbledon. It turned out, however, that the man was taking a selfie and did not realize that Meghan was in the background.

But a source close to the royals said that Meghan had no hand in their social media account, so she wasn't the one who posted the replies. She was also disappointed about that photo-taking mistake as she would have obliged anyone who asked for a picture only her bodyguards were too protective.

The royals are in a tricky situation as whatever they do in public gets unfairly judged. Meghan was right to say that it's not easy being a royal because they are lots of expectations from the public.
