The trailer for Jack Ryan season 2 has dropped over the weekend. Amazon has teased that the latest installment is coming soon, but it could likely be ready for viewing around the end of August.
Jack Ryan season 1 launched on the Amazon streaming platform last Aug. 31, 2018. It's a no-brainer for every fan of the action series that the second season could follow the same release date, per Cinema Blend.
With John Krasinski reprising his role as the CIA analyst, Jack Ryan season 2's action scenes and conspiracy theories have accelerated. The teaser hints that Jack and his fellow operatives are on a mission to stop an attack from the President of Venezuela.
However, the new mission brings Jack not just in South America but also in Russia and the United Kingdom. The mission is to unravel the President's plans and restore order and stability in the region.
Also returning for Jack Ryan season 2 is Wendell Pierce as James Greer thus reuniting Ryan with his former boss. Viewers will recall that Greer was transferred to Russia at the end of Jack Ryan season 1 and he extended an invitation to Jack join him there.
Jack stayed behind, however, and continued his work as an analyst since that has been his training. In the teaser for Jack Ryan season 2, his former boss greets him warmly with, "Good to see you again, Jack!"
Meanwhile, Jack Ryan season 2 will also star Noomi Rapace as a formidable agent with Germany's Secret Intelligence, per Deadline. She will come across Jack during her mission to South America.
House of Cards actor Michael Kelly has also been working on Jack Ryan season 2 as Mike November. His character has been described as a "smart, seasoned career field officer in the CIA," per TV Line.
Jack Ryan season 2 was renewed last April 2018, months ahead of its debut on the Amazon streaming platform. The show has also scored a third season renewal last February 2019, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Details to Jack Ryan season 3 are still not available since production has not started. Krasinski is currently working on the sequel to his movie A Quiet Place. It's likely that work on Jack Ryan season 3 won't begin until the last quarter of the year.
