Fans are about to see two returning characters in Arrow Season 8. The last and final season is about bringing back Colin Donnell and Josh Segarra to reprise their roles as Tommy and Adrian, respectively. However, they will be different from what fans used to know of them.

Tommy used to be Oliver's (Stephen Amell) in the first season. Adrian, on the other hand, was the evil Adrian/Prometheus seen in Season 5. So, how would they make a return in the last and final season?

Showrunner and executive producer Beth Schwartz revealed Adrian would be back in a "different way than expected," per Digital Spy. As he seemed to be the most favorite villain, everyone was excited upon his return.

Alternatively, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased viewers would once again see Tommy in Arrow Season 8. But, he is not coming back as the Tommy they used to know. However, Donnell cleared viewers would get satisfied to see his return.

At the recent Television Critics Association summer press tour, Donnell told TV Guide fans would see Tommy in a way that they have wanted for a while. Viewers wanted to see Tommy alive and well after he got mortally wounded in the Undertaking. At the time, he and Oliver had made amends before he succumbed to his injuries.

Tommy made an appearance in the previous season as Oliver's conscience. So in Arrow Season 8, fans would see him once again, probably, in a grand fashion.

According to ComicBook, there is a big possibility fans will see Tommy alive and well in the new season, given the teasers and spoilers it has. The season premiere will be titled "Starling City," which seems to be a nod to the Arrow's central location.

The show's first three seasons were set at Starling City. However, it was eventually renamed as Star City after the death of Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh). It is still a big mystery what the title is referencing to.

Aside from the nod to the city, there are also glimpses of Queen Mansion, and Susanna Thompson is also set to return to reprise her role as Oliver's mom, Moira Queen. There may be a lot of flashbacks in Arrow Season 8 - probably from the season premiere to the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.

There may be a look on the life on an alternate Earth as things ended up way different for the Queens and the people they love. Arrow Season 8 will be out on Oct. 15 on The CW.
