Over the weekend, some fans took their sentiments and concerns to the Twitter world about Taylor's merchandise. As it happened, the ME! vinyl discs that they purchased from Taylor Swift's merchandise store play a different track. Instead of hearing Lover's lead-off single, ME!, the disc plays a French track titled, Retourner lá-bas, sang by Jean-Baptiste Guegan.
Retourner lá-bas is a recently released single by Jean-Baptiste Guegan. He is the 2018 winner of France's Got Talent.
Taylor started selling vinyl discs of ME! a few months ago. Billboard has also reported that the artist released a limited edition for these discs which caused for many fans to rejoice. Fans can choose between the 7-inch and 12-inch vinyl discs that feature Taylor's artwork for ME! and Lover.
As of the moment, it seems that the fans are now receiving their ordered merchandise. However, what came in their packages surprised them in ways they could not imagine.
On July 26, many of the fans stormed Twitter upon reporting what happened. Some of them got mad since they've been waiting for their orders for months already. Not to mention, this is most likely another mistake on Taylor Swift's part.
It is worth noting that this has happened already a few months ago when fans have noticed a grammatical error on the prints of her shirts. Instead of the word - "you're," the print reads, "your'e."
Although it may seem too simple of an error, the shirt costs more than $50. And most of the fans are not happy with this kind of service. Even so, others have looked the other way and took it as another "Easter egg" made by Taylor Swift.
The same thing is also happening with the ME! vinyl discs as some fans take it as another Easter egg or clue from the pop singer. And according to Newshub, some of them are apparently "thrilled" with the "mix-up."
But all in all, many believe that this is truly a mistake. While the fans are not asking for a refund, some are hoping for a replacement or even an explanation from the company and the singer.
Universal Music Group is the one who handles all of Taylor Swift's merchandises. And some reporters have already reached out to the music company for a response or a comment about the matter. Unfortunately, no word has heard from the company yet. Also, no updates have been obtained from the ME! singer and even from Jean-Baptiste Guegan.
