Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 21 is about to arrive soon. With its record-breaking run, the fans can't help but wonder what new twists and storylines that it could offer after three decades of airing on American television.

So when the reports about Ariel Winter's arrival on the hit series came into light, many of the fans thought that there might be a "strange" crossover between Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Modern Family. While some people love the idea of combining the two different series, it has been confirmed already that it will not happen.

According to Cartermatt, the show's executive producer, Warren Leight, "joked" about the apparent speculation. But later on, he confirmed that it is not a "crossover." As it happens, Modern Family's star Ariel Winter will be "guest starring" on one of the early episodes of Special Victims Unit Season 21.

Just a few days ago, Ariel Winter teased the said television project on social media. With Warren Leight's announcement on a different platform, this has caused quite a commotion among the fans of the show and the star.

It has been revealed that she will appear on the second episode titled, Darkest Journey Home, of the new season. Although it is not uncovered yet as to who she will be, the episode is said to "explore" techniques and methods that will help victims to share their knowledge about investigations as per E fully!.

Aside from her role in the upcoming season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Ariel Winter will reprise her role as Alex Dunphy on ABC's longest-running comedy series, Modern Family, which, sadly, is already set to end on its eleventh run when it returns.

On another note, SVU's upcoming season will also feature other guest stars including, Ian McShane. His arrival on the show has been long revealed already. But fans are excited for his entrance on the show even if it's just for one installment.

With all of these new faces at hand, it seemingly appears that Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 21 is gearing up for its next run. As it moves into its "third decade," it is only fitting and logical as to why the show is incorporating much newer faces and storylines in its course.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 21 is set to arrive on September 26, on NBC.
