There is no denying that High School Musical 4 is considered as one of the most-awaited films up until now. The popular Disney drama-musical film franchise caught the hearts of many due to its interesting storylines and admirable characters. Since the American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate has not yet released official details about the imminent new film, some fans were forced to create theories and speculations about it.

Reports have it that the cast and crew have started working on the forthcoming High School Musical 4 already. It is claimed that the pre-production work kicked off earlier this year in North Penn High School, Pennsylvania.

While Disney has yet to announce the imminent film's official storyline, it is said to center on introducing the new lineup of characters. Among the confirmed characters set to appear on High School Musical 4 include: Erin, who is a badass soccer player who strives for excellence; Derek, the resident bad boy who develops feelings for Erin, who is the only girl on the boy's team; Campbell, a hot soccer captain who is considered as Troy Bolton 2.0; Nathalie, who is the loyal BFF of Erin; and Tamara, East High's former queen bee who tries hard to climb back up to the social ladder.

Avid followers of the film series are hoping to see its former cast members. However, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale have, already, revealed that they are not reprising their roles in the upcoming High School Musical 4 movie. "I honestly don't think I would, just based off of, I don't know if I could fill her shoes again," Ashley told E! News in an interview. "I've matured so much, I just don't know if I could give her justice - Sharpay - and be that character again. And I would hate to not have it be great," she went on.

Zac Efron, on the other hand, stated that he does not see any valid reason why he could not appear in High School Musical 4. Should the 31-year-old American actor become part of the official cast, he is likely to take a basketball coach role to replace his father, Coach Bolton.

Disney has not yet revealed any official details about the film's release date. However, before High School Musical 4 premieres in theaters, fans would be treated with an HSM television series first. The series, which is said to have 10 episodes, would center on the East High Wildcats' performance on High School Musical for their winter theater production.

Speculations suggested that the imminent movie would premiere in 2021. However, it should be noted that Disney has yet to confirm this claim. For now, stay tuned to Business Times for more High School Musical 4 spoilers, predictions, theories, news, and updates!
