An entertainment news outlet reported on Aug. 4 that Jihyo, a South Korean girl group TWICE member, is dating Kang Daniel, another K-Pop star.
Dispatch's story made K-Pop fans go wild as they expect a new super couple from the two artists. The news outlet claimed that they had been seen seeing each other since the start of the year. The report also said that they have been very secretive about it.
The website alleged that went out on a date in Seoul's neighborhood of Hannam-dong. The 22-year old girl group member reportedly drove in Kang's place. The site revealed photos of her arriving in the male singer's home in her white Mercedes while she covers her identity with a surgical mask.
The 22-year-old former Wanna One member's home is a secured luxury villa. A real estate expert revealed on the August 6th installment of "Night of TV Entertainment" that the villa's privacy is secured all over. The expert added that the parking area has an automatic door, and after you enter, there's another door that closes so that you can go into your home immediately.
The rumored couple first met through a common contact. Dispatch said that an idol sunbae close to Kang Daniel and Jihyo introduced the two to each other. The report also said that they'd seen each other about once a week for the past seven months. JYP Entertainment said she seconded the claim, saying that they have good feelings towards each other.
Many of K-Pop fans expressed their thoughts on Twitter. One user said that 2019 is the year of popular K-pop idols dating, let's give our fullest support to Jihyo and Kang Daniel. The fan mentioned that we couldn't lose another couple like JenKai. They added that the new couple needs to be protected. Another user said that if Kang Daniel & Jihyo are dating, it is better not to see anyone sending hate to either of them. The fan added that every one should let them date in peace and give them the privacy they deserve.
One fan tweeted, "When u thought JenKai was already the most powerful couple, then Kang Daniel & Jihyo, legends, drop the bomb." A Jihyo commented, "wow imagine getting to date JIHYO. Kang Daniel better treats her right or else."
Some K-Pop fans were furious when the site revealed the photos linking the rumored couple since they wanted it private. A user said that that's their privacy, adding that Dispatch needs to stop and let them be happy.
