Despite receiving a lot of complaints and criticisms, it cannot be denied that Game of Thrones Season 8 carries remarkable computer-generated imagery. From the show's settings, environment, to the dragon and some characters, its graphic design is pretty spectacular.

In the previous season's new VFX breakdown reel from Pixomondo, an effects company, it revealed how CGI brought the jaw-dropping final episode to life. Here, after Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) planned her future with Jon Snow (Kit Harington), the latter killed her for the betterment of the many. However, Jon later found himself facing the angry Drogon.

In an interview with Pixomondo's visual effects supervisor Sven Martin, he revealed there were about 300 artists that worked on different CGI aspects of Game of Thrones, per CNet. From ships to castles to huge battles, everything was done with the computer graphics application. The dragon alone had 40 artists working on it.

The final season had a lot of close-up shots of Drogon. Martin and his team made sure Daenerys' dragon would show just the right emotion through its facial expressions, from its movements to the death of Daenerys.

Martin explained they should never over-animate or humanize the dragon too much. "Drogon should always be a lizard, still stay the animal," he said. "Our guideline was how we see our pets -- we can read their emotions even though they can't talk and have a different physiognomy. We had to tread a fine line."

Meanwhile, speaking of Game of Thrones Season 8, Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) might have dropped a hint about Daenerys' arrival in the King's Landing. In Season 4 Episode 2, "The Lion and the Rose," Bran was still figuring out his new ability as a Three-Eyed Raven when he had different visions, Metro News noted.

He saw the Red Wedding and himself learning Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei's (Lena Headey) forbidden relationship. However, an eagle-eyed fan saw a moment where a dragon was looming over King's Landing. "The shadow of a dragon passes across the rooftops of a great city," he said.

The great city was believed to be King's Landing, where at the time, Bran had never been. A Reddit user suggested Bran's vision only confirmed that Drogon's burning down of King's Landing in Game of Thrones Season 8 had been planned all along.

Although this scene seemed to surprise everyone, it looked like it was a part of the plotline. Fans might once again see the invaluable CGI effects of Game of Thrones on its prequel.
