There is no denying that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce is among the most talked-about controversy in the Hallyu community up until now. The Descendants of the Sun actor shocked fans when he revealed his plan to separate from his then-wife in June. Though the split was official already, some reports continue to pit the Song-Song stars against each other.

Rumors are rife that Song Joong Ki has been very much affected with the divorce. Local media claimed that the Arthdal Chronicles star is no longer a "favorite" for advertisers since he announced his plan to split from Song Hye Kyo. Since most fans of the former couple were displeased with the announcement, the 33-year-old South Korean superstar is said to be "paying the price" of his shocking decision.

Many were, reportedly, infuriated when The Innocent Man actor decided to file for divorce without the knowledge Song Hye Kyo, who was out of the country at the time. Fans of the Full House actress even praised her for she never lashed out at Joong Ki despite this. It is also claimed that the poor ratings of Song Joong Ki's latest series is one of the primary reasons why his number of endorsements and gigs significantly dropped.

In July, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo finalized their divorce after the Seoul Family Court approved the divorce settlement. The United Artists Agency, which is the Descendants of the Sun actress' talent management, revealed that there would be no division of settlement money or property between the former Song-Song couple. The settlement came a month after Joong Ki filed for divorce from Hye Kyo.

Following the filing for divorce, Song Joong Ki announced that he would be taking a break to focus on himself. "Song Joong Ki is expected to begin filming Lightning Ship in early July," Blossom Entertainment said in a statement in June. "The exact details for the shoot haven't been released yet. He will focus on filming Lightning Ship after the schedule is set," the talent agency of Song Hye Kyo's ex-lover went on.

On July 3, Song Joong Ki, reportedly, started filming for the upcoming new movie called Victory. Reports have it that the high-budget film has approximately 20 billion won ($17 million) in production costs, suggesting that it would be an epic space-themed sci-fi flick. Besides Song Hye Kyo's ex-husband, other personalities to appear in the said movie include Kim Tae Ri, Jin Seon Kyu, and Yoo Hae Jin.

Hye Kyo, for her part, is said to be staying away from the limelight to spend quality time with herself. The 37-year-old South Korean superstar told Hong Kong Tatler that she would be resting until the end of 2019.
