Sacred Games season 2 will pick up where it left off in the first season with Mumbai police officer Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan) investigating the planned nuclear attack on Mumbai. After getting mixed up with the gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui), Sartaj will now set his sights on the spiritual guru Khanna Guruji (played by c).

Sartaj needs to figure out why Guruji saved Gaitonde against the people supporting Suleiman Isa (played by Saurabh Sachdeva) in prison. He also has to investigate Guruji's role in the planned attacks in Sacred Games season 2.

According to Telly Chakkar, Sacred Games season 2 will also explore a personal storyline for Sartaj. Based on the teaser, he will try to make up with his wife, Megha (played by Anupriya Goenka).

Meanwhile, new faces will be introduced in Sacred Games season 2, such as Kalki Koechlin whose character, Batya Abelman, was created only for the series. She is a loyal follower of Guruji, and the actress said that she has a personal connection to the role.

"I grew up with meditation centres. I grew up with these kinds of communal workshops on how to better yourself as a person," Koechlin said in an interview with NDTV. "And listening to long stories, lectures. Everyone thought they were a guru. It wasn't just the guru, it was everyone. So I know what that feels like."

Sacred Games season 2 will have eight episodes. Aside from Khan, Tripathi, and Siddiqui, also returning to reprise their roles are Girish Kulkarni, Chittaranjan Tripathi, Surveen Chawla, Vikram Kochhar, Richa Kapoor, and Neha Shitole. The first season remains streaming on Netflix for fans of Bollywood across 191 locations globally.
